Packwego Africa Takes on Lalanasi Lodge

The long awaited trip to Lalanasi Lodge was finally here. I had gone out of my way to plan for this trip and was pretty thrilled to see how it would all turn out. Rocking Packwego Africa, t-shirts and high spirits the whole team was on time at Safaricom House, Nakuru at 7 a.m. This would be a great day. I was hopeful.

We said a word of prayer, and off we went to the unknowns of Lalanasi Lodge leaving Nakuru at 8:00a.m. The air was filled with laughter and joy; one of the perks of travelling with friends. We had a stop-over at Subukia to view the Great Rift-Valley, and the girls quickly took some fun photos; clearly taking advantage of the beautiful topography. The valley and the green wild landscape always captivate me, and it always feels like I’m seeing it for the first time. I just love nature.

We finally arrived at Lalanasi Lodge at 10:45, and received a warm welcome from the Manager, Mr.Simon. Located at Nyeri-Nyahururu Highway, the lodge appears to be sitting on a river. It features a lake, stylish cottages, family villas, a tree house and a camping area. I was fascinated by the architectural plan of the Lodge, and I imagined just how much effort was put to achieve this beautiful design. Ignore me… I overthink a lot.

Filled with excitement and curiosity, the team was ready to fully explore this little known hidden gem in the heart of Laikipia County. And what better way to start the day than a deep dive into the pool. With the sun up and shining the whole swimming experience couldn’t get any better. Swimming takes energy and 2 hours of swimming emptied our customers; quite literally! We were amazed by the satisfactory buffet services. Our stomachs were full in no time.

We had a football session at the Lodge and bumped into “Senior” as he is commonly known, and what an experience it was. Senior only proved to us that you are as old as you feel with his football kicks and skills. With his hearty laugh and charm, there was never a dull moment.

The quard bikes and horse-riding elevated our experience at the lodge; it turned out to be a wild and fun encounter. The team building activities filled with dance and merry-making made the trip to be worthwhile. But the most significant event of the day was the October babies’ party that took our tour by storm. It was indeed an outstanding encounter in the cosmopolitan County.

As we headed back to Nakuru, the joys and memories of the day filled the air. I was happy that the trip turned out to be a success. This trip will definitely open more doors for me to try new travel experiments. And I look forward to that. A mind that is stretched by a new experience, can never go back to it’ old dimensions. Think about it.
