Discover the beauty of Kibale National Park, a true green treasure/or a natural paradise that is most famous for housing one of the largest populations of primates- chimpanzees. Located in the middle of Uganda, this tropical rainforest is unique and guarantees a wonderful trip in the wild. Get to travel through thick bushes and grasslands which are guided by trackers when you are in the park searching for the big ‘jacks’. Tune into the primal and get to see chimpanzees as they interact in the bushes moving around just like us. Besides primates, be fascinated by the other even greater tape species that include birds, butterflies, and plants. Exploring Kibale National Park would allow you to get close to nature and make the best of your experience out there.

Itinerary

This itinerary offers a comprehensive exploration of Kibale National Park, allowing you to discover its rich biodiversity and natural beauty over the course of four days.

Arrival and Transfer to Kibale

Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe and meet your guide/driver for the journey to Kibale National Park, known as the primate capital of the world. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours through scenic countryside. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge/camp near the park and relax after the journey. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Trek into the forest with experienced guides, searching for these fascinating primates and observing their behavior in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk, where you can spot a variety of bird species and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Explore Kibale Forest

After breakfast, embark on a guided nature walk through Kibale Forest, exploring its diverse ecosystems and spotting various species of birds, butterflies, and other wildlife. Learn about the park’s flora and fauna from your knowledgeable guide as you traverse the trails. Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you can opt for additional activities such as birdwatching, village walks, or simply enjoy the tranquility of the forest surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
