Sailing through beautiful lagoons and taking a drive on a mokoro canoe little herds of elephants and hippos can be witnessed and, birds of various species may also be observed. Spot lions, leopards, and other magnificent faunal species through game view/tracking as well as nature walks in prepared activities like game drives. Itinerary
This itinerary provides a comprehensive experience of the Okavango Delta, blending wildlife viewing, cultural insights, and the unique water-based activities that make the Delta famous.
Day 1: Arrival and Introduction to the Delta
Arrive in Maun, Botswana, and transfer to your camp or lodge in the Okavango Delta, typically via a scenic charter flight. Settle in and enjoy lunch upon arrival. In the late afternoon, take your first mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) ride or a boat safari to explore the waterways and spot diverse wildlife. Return to the camp for dinner and a relaxing evening around the campfire, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 2: Full-Day Delta Exploration
Start your day with an early morning game drive or guided walking safari to experience the Delta’s wildlife and stunning landscapes up close, then return to the camp for breakfast. Spend the late morning exploring the waterways by boat or mokoro, observing hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. After lunch and some leisure time at the camp, head out for an afternoon game drive or boat safari, seeking out elephants, lions, leopards, and other wildlife. Enjoy a sundowner as the day winds down, followed by dinner and another overnight stay at the camp.
Day 3: Cultural Visit and Departure
Begin with an optional early morning safari activity, then return for breakfast. Later in the morning, visit a local village to learn about the traditions and lifestyle of the people living in the Delta. After the cultural visit, check out from the camp and transfer back to Maun by charter flight. Enjoy a packed lunch or lunch at a nearby restaurant before continuing your journey or returning home.
