Itinerary

This 3-day itinerary offers a balanced mix of adventure, cultural exploration, and relaxation, allowing you to fully experience the beauty and diversity of the Drakensberg Mountains.

Day 1: Arrival and Exploration

Arrive in Durban or Johannesburg and transfer to the Drakensberg Mountains, a drive that varies from 2 to 5 hours depending on your starting point. Check in at your lodge or camp nestled in the mountains. Spend the afternoon exploring your surroundings with a leisurely hike or a visit to a nearby waterfall. Enjoy dinner at the lodge, taking in the stunning mountain views, and settle in for your first night in the Drakensberg.

Day 2: Hiking and Scenic Views

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before setting out on a full-day hike. Popular trails include the Amphitheatre Hike in Royal Natal National Park, offering breathtaking views of the Tugela Falls, the second-highest waterfall in the world. Alternatively, explore the Cathedral Peak area, known for its dramatic peaks and diverse flora and fauna. Pack a lunch to enjoy amidst the scenic beauty.
