If ever you fancy yourself as an adrenaline junkie, then there is a very good opportunity for you to experience the adventurous Climbing Mount Kenya Adventure, an adventure that should not be missed. As the approximate model of a giant human figure rising from the Equator, this legendary mountain offers the opportunity and delight to caress its rough skin and contemplate the gorgeous sights. Prepare yourself for hiking with various landscapes and trails – from the tropical rainforest zone to the alpine meadows and up to the snow-capped summits. Immerse the wonderful hiking and climbing heights through the plateaus and valleys; and the wildlife species and lush vegetation. Unlike Mount Kilimanjaro, where trekking sometimes is a little hard, the experience one gets from trekking around Mount Kenya makes any trekker feel happy whether he is a very experienced one or just the one experiencing it at that time by just offering him a view of one of the magnificent natural attractions in the world.

Arrival and Trekking Preparation
Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to Naro Moru, the gateway to Mount Kenya (approximately a 3-4 hour drive). Check in at your lodge and spend the afternoon preparing for the trek. Attend a briefing session with your guide to review the route, safety measures, and packing essentials. Enjoy a hearty dinner and rest overnight at the lodge.
Naro Moru to Met Station
After breakfast, transfer to the Naro Moru Park Gate. Begin your trek through the montane forest, ascending gradually to the Met Station (3,050 meters). Dinner and overnight stay at the Met Station.
Met Station to Mackinder’s Camp
Rise early for breakfast and start your trek towards Mackinder’s Camp (4,200 meters). The route takes you through the Teleki Valley, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks and landscapes. The trek covers about 14 kilometers and takes around 6-7 hours. Arrive at Mackinder’s Camp in the afternoon, set up camp, and enjoy a well-deserved meal. Spend the evening resting and acclimatizing to the higher altitude. Dinner and overnight stay at Mackinder’s Camp.
Mackinder’s Camp to Point Lenana and Descent to Sirimon Gate
Begin your summit attempt early in the morning, aiming to reach Point Lenana (4,985 meters) at sunrise. The final ascent is steep and challenging, but the panoramic views from the summit are truly rewarding. After celebrating at the summit, descend back to Mackinder’s Camp for breakfast. Continue your descent to Old Moses Camp (3,300 meters), passing through diverse landscapes and vegetation zones. After a brief rest at Old Moses Camp, continue descending to Sirimon Gate, covering a total of approximately 32 kilometers for the day.
